The Sheet Metal HVAC Foreman is responsible for overseeing and managing the installation, fabrication, and maintenance of HVAC systems and sheet metal components. This role involves supervising a team of technicians and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards. The foreman acts as a key liaison between the project manager, clients, and team members.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight
- Lead the installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC ductwork, equipment, and related systems.
- Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to ensure accuracy in execution.
- Plan and coordinate daily tasks, ensuring the team meets project milestones.
Team Supervision
- Supervise and mentor sheet metal workers, installers, and apprentices.
- Delegate tasks and monitor team performance to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Provide training and guidance to improve team skills and safety awareness.
Quality Control
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with project specifications, local codes, and industry standards.
- Address and resolve installation or fabrication issues promptly.
Safety Management
- Enforce adherence to company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct safety meetings and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Material Management
- Coordinate the procurement and delivery of tools, materials, and equipment.
- Maintain inventory and ensure proper storage and use of materials.
Client and Stakeholder Communication
- Collaborate with project managers and contractors to align on timelines and requirements.
- Communicate with clients regarding progress, changes, or concerns.
